A Tale of Two Rivers

Looking back at the photos from last week, it seems that we spent a fair bit of time on rivers.

We tooted up the Magnetewan River all the way to the chip stand.  A small tributary winds behind our local chippie.  There is a handy stump to tie off the boat and a path cleared to the lunch stand.  Beautiful day and a tasty lunch.

On Father's Day, we headed south.  First stop Toronto to see Jovana and Matthew's apartment.  Nice neighbourhood and a lovely home.  The bike in the living room is a nice touch.  After lunch, Wayne and I continued our journey to Guelph.

Kathy hosted a Father's Day barbecue.  More great food.  We even managed to keep out of the rain, while we had our supper.

On Monday, we continued to celebrate Father's Day.  Kathy, Wayne and I took Dad and Mom on The Grand River Boat Cruise.  The boat is docked outside Caledonia.  Before boarding, coffee and muffins are served.  To get everyone into a festive mood, a musical quartet plays good old fiddle music.  They were very talented.  We then boarded the Queen of the Grand, cruised  the river and dined on a delicious roast beef  lunch - except Wayne and Kathy who had chicken.  Everything was homemade including the bread and apple pie.

Great day cruising along.

Tuesday I had an appointment with my doctor and his nurse.  They went over my test results  and did in depth blood pressure checks.  Looks good.  I just need to continue eating right and walking, walking, walking.

After a pit stop at Red Lobster, we scooted home to the forest.  Just in time for a wicked rain storm.  Our boat made out OK but the docks not so much.  Amazing how quickly the lake can change.

Today we went for another boat ride - this time on the lake.  It was a perfect day, the best of the season so far.  Enjoy your week and remember - Life is Good!
