Another Great Week

The weather was great - sunny and warm. The only problem with that is the lack of rain. We desperately need a good soaking. The lake level is dropping and the flowers are drooping. I finished several craft projects recently. A knitted afghan that I started over 3 years ago, a gift and some beading. I finished a black and silver bracelet but need to purchase more beads to make a matching necklace. There is a bead store just outside of Huntsville. I sense an impending field trip. Tuesday, we headed to North Bay for a luncheon date with two of Wayne's cousins - Jackie and Bruce. We had a great time catching up and picking Jackie's brain for info on the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. We are heading south this winter.

On Thursday we helped Anthony and Nancy (park owners) to move the playground.  Then Wayne and Anthony checked all the structures and reconfigured  the components to make a safe and improved play area.  Wayne and Anthony seemed to have fun swinging and sliding.  Hopefully the kids will too.

Hard at work
This was a busy weekend.  On Saturday afternoon there was a briefing on the use of a defibrillator and a review of CPR.  A couple of years ago the park did some fundraising and bought a defibrillator.  Good thing to have just in case.  After that the kids tie died tshirts.  The process was very interesting.  Next year I'm going to make one.  The finished shirts were beautiful

This morning there was a community coffee hour complete with Tim bits.  It was a nice way to get to know more park residents.  I hope we have more.

Well that just about sums up our week.  We had fun - did you?

A Visit From Kathy

Happy Canada Day!

We had a great time celebrating at Doe Lake.  Every year the park hosts a potluck dinner.  It was delicious as always.   At dusk we sang Oh Canada and then the fireworks began.  Anthony puts on a wonderful show.  Thanks again.

Kathy came to visit Monday to Thursday.   We met her in Huntsville and had lunch at That Little Place By The Lights.  Very good Italian food.  Thanks Amanda for the lead.

Tuesday we went to the market and then shopping at a couple of gift shops way back in the woods.  By then it was time for lunch.  We thought Danny's Justa Pasta would hit the spot.  But no luck.

Wednesday was a beautiful day.  We went boating, swimming and barbecued ribs for supper.

Wayne and I like to boat up the Magnetewan River.  We anchor alongside the highway and wave to passing traffic.  Very juvenile but lots of fun.  Most truckers wave and blow their horns.

Izzie - Is he an alligator or crocodile?
Dad made us a new addition to our menagerie.  Izzie has found a home in my shade garden for now.  He might migrate to a new spot though.  Thanks Dad.  Hope Izzie doesn't bite.

On Thursday we headed out to Dwight.  We bought some goodies at Henrieta's Bakery and had lunch at the Moose Cafe.  Hey Dad, how about making a moose head like this?  It would look good on our shed.
Next door to the cafe was the Muskoka Beadworks.  Kathy is heavily into beading and has recently converted me.  Muskoka Beadworks was a great find.  They carry a large range of supplies.

So this week was quite busy and fun.  Thanks for visiting Kathy.  Come again soon.
