What a weird week this has been.
It started off well. Wayne and I decided to join the Royal Canadian Legion. We've been thinking about it for quite awhile, deciding that we should join Branch 405 in Burks Falls. Since we spend about 5 months a year here it was a logical choice. Saturday afternoon was our initiation ceremony.
Because of the ongoing drought conditions, my flower gardens have been struggling. By last weekend my water barrel had run dry and the park's portable tanks were out of commission. So we resorted to filling 5 gallon Jerry cans at the front office. So far so good. However, as I tried to get out of the truck, I fell into Nancy's garden. Very gently, I might add. I thought it was no big deal - just a couple of prickles in my palm and a slight twinge in my side. But by Wednesday evening, I couldn't take a deep breath and was unable to find a comfortable position because my side was so painful.
Bright and early Thursday morning, Wayne took me into the emergency department at the Huntsville Hospital. They xrayed my ribs, checked my blood and I then waited for 7 hours to have an ultrasound to check for spleen damage. Everything looked normal. So long story short, after 9 hours, I was diagnosed with a pulled muscle and sent home with some pain killers. I feel much better this morning as I was able to have a good drug induced sleep last night.
We were supposed to drive to Guelph yesterday to celebrate Mom's birthday. That's not happening as I can't sit in the truck for that long. Sorry Mom, we'll try again later.
Finally rain has arrived. It drizzled all day yesterday and is continuing today and for several days to come. Yeah!!
I think I will do some sewing, cross stitching or beading. All good rainy day pursuits.
