Wayside Wanderers in Waterloo

Nothing like a  little alliteration.  lol

It's been a couple of weeks since I updated.  We've been having lots of fun with little time to sit at the computer.

Family times abound.  The first event celebrated Dad's 80th birthday.  At least 80 friends and family gathered at the Black Forest Inn in Conestoga for Sunday Brunch.  Matthew and Jovana drove up from Toronto.  It was the first we had seen them since Cuba.  Lots of my aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends.  It was delicious and lots of fun. Great to see so many people  that we don't get to visit with often.

Kathy and I went to a scrap booking seminar.  Kate is an avid scrapbooker.  I have only dabbled in the craft once very many years ago.  It was a fun day and I decided that electronic scrap booking is the way for me to go.  I ordered software so that I can create pages on the computer and then have them professionally printed.  Digital scrap booking bits and pieces weigh nothing as opposed to the tons of stuff Kathy drags around.

Oh another benefit to digital scrapping.  There is no mess.  Wayne would be stressed out majorly by the mess that develops as the creative juices flow.

We have lots of birthdays, anniversaries, graduations etc occurring this spring.  Let the good times roll on.

Kathy, Sherry and Kevin came for supper.  We celebrated Sherry's birthday as well as Kathy's.

Kathy stayed for a sleepover.  The next day we went shopping at a couple of artsy fartsy stores and a great Italian grocery - Vincenzo's.  We had custom made sandwiches for lunch.  Fabulous.  After lunch and shopping, we went for a hike in the Laurel Creek Conservation Area.  We needed to work off the sandwiches.

Saturday morning Kathy and I were off to have more adventures, while Wayne did laundry and helped my mom and dad with some chores.  Thanks Wayne.  Kathy and I went to a nursery with a group of women to plant our own custom flower baskets.  It was a charity fundraising event and lots of fun.

After working so hard all morning, Kathy and I just had to stop for lunch in Fergus on the way home.  It is a beautiful small town on the banks of the Grand River.  One of many towns and cities along this river.

Next blog our day in the big city.
